60 Tatsunoko Productions Characters Pose for Studio's 60th Anniversary Visual

Studio will turn 60 on October 19, 2022

Anime studio Tatsunoko Productions (Speed Racer, Gatchaman, Time Bokan, Infini-T Force) released a visual on Tuesday in anticipation of its 60th anniversary on October 19, 2022. The visual features 60 characters across various Tatsunoko properties. The company’s online shop plans to sell 60 different types of goods based on that visual.

In addition, Yatterman mechanical designer Kunio Okawara redesigned the eponymous Yatterman; Kotobuki will release a plastic model based on this redesign in 2022.

Throughout the one-year leadup to the anniversary, Tatsunoko will hold various events and projects. A Tatsunoko-themed shop will open in Tokyo’s Seibu Shibuya store from November 2 to 8. Starting from November 26, the web manga site Comiplex will run a “Tatsunoko 60th Anthology” manga featuring various manga creators’ unique interpretations of Tatsunoko anime works. Contributing artists include Tatsuma Ejiri (P2! – Let’s Play Pingpong!, Infini-T Force: Arc to the Future) and Takashi Kurihara (Tsunobyō).

Tatsunoko is also holding a joint campaign with TV Kanagawa, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, to conduct a survey among viewers. The top-voted series will represented in the station’s Sunday anime timeslot from April 2022, while the rest of the top 5 will be broadcast under the nostalgic anime selection from December 2021 to March 2022.

Tatsunoko Productions produced the Infini-T Force and The Price of Smiles anime to celebrate the company’s 55th anniversary.
